Alongside director Kellen Dengler, I set out to create Land of the Rising Mic, an episodic docuseries on Japan’s hip-hop history. Two years in, with hundreds of hours of interviews featuring the culture’s key figures, we’re still in production. Now, we’re taking the conversation stateside to bring this global story full circle.
